Pinnacle Named Best Workplace in Charlotte for The Third Year in a Row

November 21, 2023

Pinnacle Financial Partners is once again the No. 1 best place to work in Charlotte.

This is Pinnacle’s third consecutive No. 1 ranking on the list of midsize Top Workplaces from The Charlotte Observer and Energage and its fifth appearance overall, earning the No. 1 spot in 2022 and 2021.

“Associates continue to drive our best-in-class culture,” said Rob Ellenburg, Pinnacle’s regional chairman in North Carolina. “Winning this award three years in a row shows that when people are team-oriented with shared goals and rewards, they’re willing to contribute to a collaborative atmosphere. In Charlotte and across Pinnacle’s footprint, our job has been to ensure that despite the many challenges to business as usual, every associate feels a sense of belonging and purpose.”

This honor comes as Pinnacle was recently named one of the top five Best Banks to Work For in the nation, having earned the no. 4 spot on the annual list compiled by American Banker magazine and Best Companies Group.

Like the Charlotte Top Workplaces award, many of these are determined by employee surveys, where Pinnacle performs strongly. On the firm’s annual and anonymous internal survey, associates left comments like:

“The grass truly is greener here. No red tape, no micro-managing, just the freedom to do my job unrestricted. This is more motivating than any carrot or stick scheme I've ever been a part of.”

“Management is always looking to support our employees and improve our work environment. They encourage a team-oriented approach to our goals and recognize those employees regularly that have contributed to our success. Overall, this is the best place I have worked at in many years.”

The list of Top Workplaces is based entirely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by the research firm Energage, LLC, a leading provider of technology-based employee engagement tools. The anonymous survey measures several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution and connection, to name just a few.
